Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Code 14 Driver to join our team in Clayville under the Astral - Festive contract. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in operating ultra-heavy vehicles, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to perform effectively under varied work conditions, including weekends and public holidays.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent National Certificate.
  • Valid Code EC driver’s license with a current PrDP.
  • At least 3 years of experience operating ultra-heavy vehicles, including Superlink or Interlink combinations.

  • Familiarity with defensive driving techniques and emergency response protocols.
  • Ability to perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Knowledge of safe loading and offloading techniques.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle cost-efficiency measures.
  • Own reliable transport to and from the workplace.
  • A clean criminal record and medical fitness certification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections and operate ultra-heavy vehicles in compliance with road and safety regulations.
  • Load, transport, and offload goods securely and efficiently.
  • Accurately handle trip documentation and report emergencies, defects, or incidents promptly.
  • Maintain vehicles in a clean and presentable condition, ensuring adherence to company housekeeping standards.

  • Follow company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and promote safety in all aspects of the role.
  • Be available for shift work, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
  • Actively participate in and complete medical evaluations, USCS training modules, induction processes, and practical driving evaluations.
