The role of a Driver Code 14 at Lactalis SA goes beyond merely driving. It’s about ensuring that milk is transported under the highest safety and hygiene standards, meticulously inspected, and handled with care.
Drivers are tasked with essential duties, such as conducting alliserol tests to verify milk quality, carefully coupling and uncoupling hoses to pump milk, and taking accurate samples.
They must maintain precise temperature records and ensure the cleanliness of vehicles and equipment.
Safety and compliance are non-negotiable at Lactalis SA. Drivers are expected to adhere to all road traffic regulations and company policies, promoting food safety standards and complying with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
The position also requires excellent attention to detail and a commitment to reporting any deviations or irregularities promptly.
Teamwork is equally essential in this role. As a Driver Code 14, you’ll work closely with the Tankers department, supporting continuous improvement initiatives and communicating effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless operations.
Your ability to take on additional tasks and adapt to a demanding schedule—including shifts, long hours, weekends, and public holidays—will be highly valued.
To qualify for this role, candidates must have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, a valid Code 14 driver’s license with a Professional Driving Permit (PrDP), and at least two years of tanker driving experience.
Prior exposure to the FMCG environment is essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Physical fitness is also necessary to meet Occupational Health and Safety standards.
